5 Zoo Yoga Poses for Kids

It’s no secret that young children love animals. And my daughter is no exception.

My husband and I have been taking her to visit the zoo since she was only a couple of months old. Over time, she learned to act out the animals through zoo yoga poses for kids before she could speak the names. She also pointed out her favorite zoo animals in books. Now, she’s five and still loves to talk about, act out, and read about zoo animals.

Recently, we went to a zoo that is near our house west of Boston.  To get ready for our trip, we brought out zoo animal books, picked out zoo animal figurines, and practiced our zoo animal poses. We enjoyed our day at the zoo together as a family!

I have to admit to never thinking about animals and yoga poses before. But this looks like such a great activity to get kids to be imaginative and have fun at the same time! I am definitely trying some out in our next playdate! thanks for sharing.

These yoga poses are brilliant. I could even use these at school for a brain break. Thanks!

Thanks Carmen! You’re absolutely right – teachers are using little yoga pose sequences for brain breaks at school. Excellent idea. Keep me posted if you try it. I’d love to hear how your students enjoy the poses.
