20 Fun Outdoor Spring Activities for Kids
What do you love best about spring?
It’s hard to imagine that spring is almost here as I look out over six feet of snow! But a little bird chirping reminds me that soon we’ll be able to get outside again to run, play, and explore.
I heard John Ratey, author of Spark and Go Wild (Amazon affiliate link), speak last week at the Yoga in Schools Symposium. He has spent his career researching the benefits of movement on the brain. Research shows that the brain benefits from not only endurance, but balance and flexibility, as well. What practice incorporates endurance, balance, and flexibility? Yoga, of course!
In preparation for the excitement of spring, I’ve put together a list of twenty spring activities (thanks to my Kid Blogger friends) that also involve these three skills: movement, balance, and flexibility.
Some of these spring activities for kids also include an educational component. The links below are meant to give you inspiration, but feel free to adapt the activities to suit what works for you and your children.
